Cash Ryan¿s life is a mess. A property developer has made her homeless, her boyfriend has decided to lead the celibate life, and her big acting break in a TV soap has just fizzled out like a damp squib. She gets sympathy and support from Mort Higgins, private investigator, friend and part time employer, but is devastated one morning to find him dead at his desk with a gun shot wound to his head. The police declare it a suicide, but Cash and Mort¿s widow Janet think differently. Along with Cash¿s friend Billie, they embark on a journey to discover the truth. On the way they encounter a healing evangelist, a renegade biker nun, an illegal adoption scam, a host of Hell¿s Angels, a few close shaves and plenty of dirty dealing.
